This page is dedicated to my Acadian ancestors, their lives, loves, joys, and yes, tragedies.
My mother’s grandfather, Curtis Benjamin Lore, was half Acadian on his father’s side. I began this series with him and wrote about additional ancestors as I worked back in time and in his tree.
I have compiled this list of articles complete with sources, documentation, and, when possible, genetic information confirming their heritage.
Even if these are not your Acadian ancestors, they assuredly knew each other and were probably neighbors, attended the same church, and lived communally – helping each other from day to day. The events influencing and transforming their lives in France and Acadia during a specific time period universally affected all Acadians.
Some articles are about Acadians more broadly.
