I’m typically not a “things” person, but I’m telling you, I want one of these for my garden. Oh yeah!!!!! In fact, I think making one would be great fun!!!
This summer (2015), you can take part in an extraordinary event across London, England, in support of Cancer Research UK.
This London art trail is made up of 21 beautifully designed giant double helix sculptures and runs until Sunday the 6th of September. These sculptures have been designed by some of the biggest names in art and design. Check out the sculpture map, watch the video of how one sculpture was made, and start planning your trail now, at least if you’re going to be in London. I surely wish they’d do a virtual tour for those of us who can’t visit in person.
At the end of the summer, these sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds to complete the Francis Crick Institute, the scientist of course who discovered DNA.

I personally love the Delft one. And the cat one with the buttons. And the orange tree from Spain. And the helix ladder. And the symbolic swallow with handprints. Ok, I like them all. Which one is your favorite?

Dr. Elizabeth Selandia, MLIS, MAIA, MAMS, OMD, CA AND H63-“Danish” The attribution of Swedish to H63 is erroneous, since this area up until the end of 17th century was Danish. My ancestor family Eve must have left for Ireland, but when, sometime between 8th-17th centuries and the names are too common to trace it back further; so, the mtDNA from FTDNA has helped, 23&Me gave me plain H. James Lick has informed me my mutation will likely result in a new version of H63 and I want it named “H63-Selandia.” Selandia is the derivation of Sjaelland, the name of the island where Koebenhavn (Copenhagen) lies. When Julius Caesar mapped Gaul, he named Sjaelland “Zealland” and it went into the Latin, gained a declination “-ia” and then into the Italian and came back as “Selandia,” and since “sjael” means either sail or soul, the name is “land of the sail” (or Viking) or “land of the soul.” The first diesel ship was named Selandia and there was a rose named that, but generally, it is a business name, until my former husband’s father and mother adapted it as their stage name; they were open act dancers from Danmark, yes, that is how Danes spell the name of their country. Anyhow, thanks.
